What do you need to go camping?

Before setting off on a camping trip, you need to adequately prepare yourself. Going in unprepared is a dangerous game, as you are never really sure what to expect out in the wild. So what do you need to go camping? Let’s find out!

Tent

Unless you are into extreme camping, your first priority should be securing a tent. Not only will a tent keep a roof over your head, but it will also keep you away from bugs and potential dangers. There are a plethora of tents on the market which means that you are going to be able to find one that suits your needs. No matter how many people you need to accommodate, there is a tent out there for you!

If you do not want to deal with the hassle of setting up a tent, then a pop-up is the way to go. They are easy to manage and are structurally sound. There is also a rooftop tent that goes over your vehicle. This will elevate you off the ground and provide you with a softer surface to sleep on.

Food

Food is a must-have for any camping trip. What food should you pack? You should bring non-perishables if you are planning on staying out there for a long time. You should also pack more food than you think you will need. It is better to be safe than sorry, as running out of food too early could ruin your whole trip.

Kitchen

Although you will not experience the same luxuries that come with cooking in a home kitchen, there is plenty of gear you can bring on a camping trip to emulate the process. A portable stove can give you a hot meal while you are out in the wild. Similarly, there exists a camping grill that will allow you to host a cookout in nature. Make sure if you use these products, they bring plenty of fuel!

Cooler

A cooler will transport your food and drinks safely. There is nothing better than cracking open an ice-cold drink after a long day of setting your campsite up. Consider investing in a cooler if you do not have one.

Portable Toilet

The term “nature calls” does not mean that you have to go in nature. Instead, consider purchasing a portable toilet for your travels. They are easy to use and offer a simple and clean disposal process. On top of that, they are very affordable.

Portable Furniture

Sitting on the ground is less than ideal on a camping trip. Bringing a chair and table will be a welcome change of pace after you have been active all day. Thankfully camping furniture is specially designed to be portable and durable.

Canopy

Having a roof over your head to protect you from the sun and the rain will drastically increase your camping trip’s comfort. Getting out of your comfort zone and challenging yourself is one thing; however, having shelter is a necessity, no matter the situation. Having a place of comfort and rest is never a bad idea when out in nature.
