Although you can go trekking in any season, each has pros and cons. Seasons aside, you also need to note where you live and how intensive the weather can get. For example, trekking in a colder climate during the winter season is much more dangerous than trekking in a warmer location. With that being said, here are the benefits each season brings while trekking!
Springtime is an ideal time to go trekking if you want to take in some beautiful sights. The days are long, and nature is at its liveliest as everything wakes up. On top of that, the temperature is comfortable to walk around in. If you are new to trekking and want to start easy, then going in the springtime is perfect! The only thing you will have to look out for is the rain and thunderstorms that come with the season. There is a reason that spring is the most popular season to trek in!
Summer is a difficult season to trek in, but it is a rewarding one at that. The scorching weather means you must bring plenty of water and take frequent breaks. You will also have to deal with various insects, so make sure you get bug spray! Despite its issues, trekking in the summertime could be better. You will have plenty of sunlight, and the weather will stay consistent. If you have free time this season, then summertime trekking is a great activity.
Early to mid-fall, is perfect weather for trekking. The sights are breathtaking, and the weather is ideal. This timespan is excellent for trekking as there are next to no problems that come with it. Unfortunately, the latter half of fall can be inconsistent, depending on your location. You will need to be careful when you go trekking as this is when the weather will start to get colder. On top of that, it can be challenging to navigate in the fall because the leaves will make it hard to spot trails and landmarks.
If you are a beginner, only trek in the wintertime if you have experienced help! The frigid weather and the slippery ground are dangerous to be out in for an extended period. Setting up camp for the night can also be difficult if you do not know what you are doing. Overall, you should only go trekking in the winter if you have some experience and are looking to challenge yourself.
